Overview

In order to make an application under Tier 5 of the Points Based System non-EEA nationals must have a confirmed offer of employment with a UK company.  

Tier 5 applicants must have a registered sponsor/employer in place and must be in possession of a Certificate of Sponsorship.

As was the case with the previous work permit scheme, the Tier 5 work permit application process is led by the employer and it is the sponsoring company who is responsible for making the application on behalf of the non-EEA national candidate they wish to employ


Temporary Workers - Creative & Sporting

This category is suited for candidates coming to the United Kingdom to work or perform as sports people, entertainers or creative artists for up to 12 months.

Sports persons must be internationally established at the highest level in their sport  and must make a significant contribution to the development and running of sport at the highest level in the United Kingdom.

If you are a coach, you must be suitably qualified to do the job.

This category does not apply if you are visiting sportsperson taking part in a tournament or series of events.

Temporary Workers - Charity Workers

This category is suited for candidates coming to the United Kingdom to do voluntary work for charity, which is not paid work.  The work must be directly related to the work of your sponsor's organisation.
