Overview

In order to make an application under Tier 2 of the Points Based System non-EEA nationals must have a confirmed offer of employment with a UK company.   The Tier 2 Skilled Worker category is proposed to take effect from November 2008.

Tier 2 work permit applicants must have a registered sponsor/employer in place and must be in possession of a Certificate of Sponsorship.

As was the case with the previous work permit scheme, the Tier 2 work permit application process is led by the employer and it is the sponsoring company who is responsible for making the application on behalf of the non-EEA national candidate they wish to employ
