Overview

This sub tier is aimed at students wishing to work in the UK to gain experience without the need of sponsorship from an employer. It is granted for a period of two years and forms a bridge for you switching to another tier if need be. It is based on points and you must score over 75 to be eligible for this visa.

Criteria

It is points based and the individual is required to score a minimum of 75 points in the 4 areas below:

1. United Kingdom qualification = 20 points

2. Studied at United Kingdom institution = 20 points

3. Immigration status during United Kingdom study and/or research = 20 points

4. Date of award of qualification = 15 points

I addition you must also score full points below:

English language = 10 points

Maintenance (funds) = 15 points
